Autolog’s R&D team has partnered with FPInnovations to market a new real-time automated system for identifying and separating wood species based on new technology using near infra-red spectroscopy. Research by FPInnovations has shown that it is possible to separate Canada’s softwood species with a high success rate. Autolog’s Francis Paquin and FPInnovations’ Zarin Pirouz will present on the productivity gain in the kiln obtained by these methods for separating lumber.
